Twickenham Cleaners Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Twickenham Cleaners in respect of the financial year ending 31 December 2025. It sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. Twickenham Cleaners is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to safeguard workers from exploitation.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Twickenham Cleaners has a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, child labour, human trafficking, and exploitation. We will not knowingly engage with any individual, organisation, or supplier that is involved in or benefits from such practices. Compliance with this policy is a condition of working for, or with, Twickenham Cleaners.
All managers, employees, contractors, and suppliers are expected to uphold this commitment and to act promptly if they have any concerns about potential modern slavery risks. Any breach of this policy by an employee may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. For suppliers and contractors, any breach may result in termination of contracts or refusal to renew business relationships.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Twickenham Cleaners provides professional cleaning services to residential and commercial customers. Our supply chain includes providers of cleaning materials, equipment, workwear, facilities, and certain outsourced services. Because the cleaning industry can be exposed to higher risks of labour exploitation, we take special care to assess and monitor modern slavery risks within both our direct operations and our extended supply chain.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all suppliers to operate in full compliance with applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws. Our supplier expectations include prohibitions on forced, bonded, or involuntary labour; fair and transparent recruitment practices; no use of child labour; fair wages, benefits, and working hours; and safe and healthy working conditions.
Where appropriate and proportionate to the level of risk, we carry out supplier assessments and audits, which may include pre-engagement due diligence, review of labour and health and safety practices, and ongoing monitoring of compliance. We prioritise audits for higher risk categories, such as labour providers, subcontracted cleaning services, and suppliers operating in sectors or regions associated with elevated modern slavery risks.
Where areas of concern are identified, we will work with the supplier to address them within a defined timeframe. If a supplier fails to remedy issues or shows unwillingness to improve, Twickenham Cleaners reserves the right to suspend or terminate the relationship.
Employee Awareness and Reporting Channels
Twickenham Cleaners promotes a culture where concerns about unethical behaviour, including any suspicion of modern slavery or human trafficking, can be raised without fear of retaliation. We provide guidance to managers and staff on recognising indicators of exploitation, such as signs of coercion, restriction of freedom of movement, or withholding of identity documents.
Employees, contractors, and other stakeholders are encouraged to report any concerns or suspected violations through internal management channels or in line with our whistleblowing and grievance procedures. Reports can be made confidentially, and we will investigate all concerns promptly, fairly, and sensitively. Where necessary, we will involve appropriate external authorities.
Ongoing Monitoring and Annual Review
We recognise that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing process and that the risks can evolve over time. Twickenham Cleaners is committed to continuous improvement of our policies, training, risk assessments, and supply chain oversight.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least annually by our leadership team. The review will consider changes in our business, feedback from employees and suppliers, audit findings, and any emerging legal or best practice developments. Where improvements are identified, we will update our procedures and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders.
This Statement has been approved by the management of Twickenham Cleaners, who take overall responsibility for ensuring that it is implemented and maintained throughout the organisation.
